- La Société Historique Acadienne Cahier Vol 23 No 1 1992 Janvier-Mars contains Stephen A. White's article "Les fondateurs de la paroisse d'Arichat, Cap-Breton" briefly describing each of the 70 heads of families who signed a March 8 1786 letter to J.F.W. DesBarres, Lieutenant Governor of Cape Breton. This letter thanked J.F.W. DesBarres for the promise of land concessions, the permission to construct a church and school, and the request for tax exemptions. Following is an English translation of Stephen A. White's description by Lena Samson.
Pierre Hilarion Forest, son of Simon Forest (#2) and Marguerite Gautrot, was born at Pisiguit about Dec 1752. He married, about 1776, Marguerite Boudrot, daughter of Charles Boudrot (#4) and Marguerite Dugas, Hilarion and Marguerite settled on the Forest land grant in Arichat. Hilarion is stated as a yeoman on the 1811 Census of Cape Breton and as a carpenter in 1813.
As posted by Dennis M. Boudreau on Genealogy.com September 21, 2002 with Subject Re: Forest / Vigneault:
While doing research on the Vigneaus, I went back to the article Stephen White wrote for our journal Le Réveil Acadien, and found your answer. It would be worth joining our Society and getting a copy of the full article which explains the various branches of the Vigneaus at Île Madame in great detail. You may order one at the Acadian Cultural Society web site: www.acadiancultural.org/
e-mail the membership link, and ask for the May 2002 issue in which the article appears.
Down from the following:
Pierre-Roch VIGNEAU s/o Pierre & Madeleine Cyr
Marie DUGAS d/o Joseph & Marguerite LeBlanc
m Miquelon, Oct. 10, 1771,
Édouard VIGNEAU s/o Pierre-Roch & Marie Dugas
Marguerite FOREST d/o Pierre-Hilarion & Marguerite Boudrot
m Arichat, NS ca 1820
Steve then writes: "Édouard Vigneau was the youngest of Pierre-Roch Vigneau's sons. The 1838 census places three girls and one boy aged over fourteen and two more girls aged between six and fourteen in his family. Of these six youngsters, it has been possible to identify three as Édouard's children: Julie (b. about 1822), Marie (b. about 1827), and Adèle (or Adélaïde) (b. about 1831). The marriages of these three sisters are all to be found in the Arichat parish registers.” I believe the last daughter is the one you're looking for.

Ancestry's Acadia, Canada, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1754-1946 records the burial of Margaret Vigneau age 75 daughter of Laurent Forest [no mother recorded] born Arichat died March 14 1876 Arichat.
The Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics website records the death of Margaret Vigneau age 75 Widow born Arichat daughter of Lorian and Margt Forest died March 14 1876 Arichat.
FamilySearch's Nova Scotia Probate Records, 1760-1993 records the Will of Peter L. Forest of Arichat Yeoman whose sole beneficiary is his daughter Margaret Vigneau Widow. Neither Peter L. Forest's wife nor Margaret Vigneau's husband are named in the Will. Clearly, a Marguerite Forest married a Vigneau.
It is reasonable to believe Margaret (Forest) Vigneau who died in 1876 and was born about 1800-1801 is the daughter of Pierre Hilarion Forest and Marguerite Boudrot, and so the Will of Peter L. Forest of Arichat Yeoman is the Will of Pierre Hilarion Forest, husband of Marguerite Boudrot.
